I try to make my services affordable for all.  Shorter and longer sessions may be available on a pro-rated basis.

**A 60 minute massage will also focus mainly on a few areas of the body that need deep tissue work or as a general full-body massage.

**A 90 minute massage will generally be a full-body massage with extra attention to chronic pain/injury sites.

I follow all Covid-19 safety protocols recommended by the CDC and AZ Dept of Health based on Pima County's rate of Covid transmission.    All linens, table, bolsters, etc are disinfected using a hospital grade disinfectant and ultraviolet light.  Masks are optional depending on the Covid rate, but please feel free to request that I/we mask if desired.  During my career as a registered nurse for the past 30 years, I have studied microbiology, virology and infection control extensively and will take all precautions to protect your health and mine!  Upon request, I also have a portable H13 HEPA air purification unit available.

Mobile Massage Therapy

As you can see below, I have a wide variety of skills which I include in my practice.  Some people will want to avail themselves of those specific techniques for a session.  However, I find that many people come in for massage work with a variety of needs and expectations. Sessions can be for a full body massage, especially for stress reduction or general health benefits.  Other sessions may be focused around some specific areas of pain or limited mobility.  I will always customize the massage work to each and every client for each session.  I schedule my sessions so that we always have time for discussion before and after your massage.  For new clients, there are two forms to fill out: the New Client Intake Form and the General Liability Release Form.  These can both be downloaded from this site.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance the entire body. It does this by using massage techniques to stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. Direct myofascial release is sometimes referred to as deep tissue work.  However, much of the fascial work is quite superficial.  Indirect release applies light pressure and gently stretches the fascia; this allows for increased blood circulation and relief from pain.  It is especially effective in releasing old scar tissue in the body from previous injuries or surgeries.  That scar tissue prevents full range of motion and often triggers the pain response.  Release of teh scar tissue in the fascial layer allows for full circulation and effortless range of motion.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries.  Although deep tissue work is common nomenclature, myofascial release is the more appropriate term for this type of work applied by a skilled therapist.  Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Esalen-style Massage

Esalen massage is a gentle, soothing massage capable of inducing deep relaxation in the recipient. Using long, graceful, connected strokes to heighten the client’s awareness of bodily experiences, the practitioner gives attention to the entire body in this approach.  This body awareness is what is believed to promote healing.  As people become conscious of the various ways they hold tension in their bodies, their minds may be better able to naturally begin the process of letting go.

Another important aspect of this therapy is the approach taken toward each client as a whole person, not as separate parts to be manipulated. Unlike outcome goals in other forms of massage, the practitioner’s primary goal in this approach is not the removal of localized pain or tension, though this is typically accomplished. Instead, the aim is usually to induce deep relaxation, integrate mind and body, and enhance total body awareness.

Another defining feature of Esalen massage is that it is largely intuitive. The practitioner does not impose a predetermined set of techniques on the recipient but instead tries to sense what is needed in each moment. Rather than working on the client, the practitioner works with the client, listening closely to messages being communicated through the client’s body and responding accordingly. Esalen massage is sometimes described as a “meditative massage,” due in part to the inner focus displayed by the practitioner and receiver.

*Due to the nature of this massage I only offer it as a 90 minute massage.

Geriatric Massage

Geriatric massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. If you are elderly, geriatric massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, since the elderly don't typically receive enough physical touch, this massage can also help alleviate symptoms of loneliness or depression.

Cancer/Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage is a special type of massage developed specifically for cancer patients. Cancer patients have unique needs which must be addressed to make sure that a massage is beneficial to their health. I focus my attention on creating a gentle, nurturing environment for you to relax into.

Energy Work

Energy work is based on the belief that everyone has a “life force”, and that the body needs to sustain its balance for optimum health. Anytime you experience emotional or physical illness, it indicates that your life force has simply become unbalanced. I work directly with your energy field to restore balance and flow to your entire system.  This work is often labeled as Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Healing Touch, Energy Balancing or various other names.  I consider this work to be a natural extension of my massage work rather than a separate modality.
